Appointed commander-in-chief of Nova Scotia and New Brunswick in 1794, Prince Edward traveled throughout the province (visiting both Saint John and Fredericton) meeting with the colony's inhabitants, including its first lieutenant governor, Colonel Thomas Carleton.
