The islands and territories of Mainland

With the help of Professor Susan Scott, When Summer Suns Were Glowing was published in 2003 in an effort to preserve the empire created in the lakes and islands surrounding my cottage. This book served as a template for Beyond Mainland.

When Summer Suns Were Glowing was presented to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in January 2004, and copies of it can be found in such places as Pitcairn Island, Tristan da Cunha and Stewart Island (New Zealand). 

Included in its pages are the maps, coats of arms and details of every one of the islands and lands "discovered" during the canoe trips I made as a boy. I have scanned them below.
